Masjid Quba(مسجد قباء) The first مسجد built in Islam, established by نبی کریم Muhammad upon his arrival in مدینہ منورہ during the Hijrah (migration from مکہ مکرمہ). Located approximately 5 km south of مسجد نبوی, praying there carries the reward of an عمرہ.
مسجد قباء
Masjid Quba holds the distinction of being the very first مسجد in Islamic history. When نبی کریم Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) migrated from مکہ مکرمہ to مدینہ منورہ in 622 CE, he stopped first at the village of Quba, where he laid the foundation of this مسجد. Allah mentions it in قرآن مجید: 'A مسجد founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in' (9:108), which many scholars interpret as referring to Masjid Quba. نبی کریم used to visit Masjid Quba every Saturday, sometimes walking and sometimes riding. He said: 'Whoever makes وضو at home then comes to Masjid Quba and prays there, he will have a reward like that of عمرہ' (Sunan an-Nasa'i). The مسجد has been expanded significantly over the centuries and now covers a large area with modern facilities. Visiting Masjid Quba is highly مستحب for حجاج in مدینہ منورہ and is typically included in the مدینہ منورہ ziyarah program.
