مسجد الجعرانة
Masjid al-Ji'ranah is located about 24 km northeast of مکہ مکرمہ. It is the place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered احرام for عمرہ after the Battle of Hunayn and the distribution of war spoils in 8 AH. It serves as a miqat for those in مکہ مکرمہ who wish to perform عمرہ, offering an alternative to Taneem.
Ji'ranah is where نبی کریم Muhammad (PBUH) camped after the Battle of Hunayn in 8 AH to distribute the war spoils. After completing this task, he entered احرام from this location for عمرہ, arriving in مکہ مکرمہ at night, performing عمرہ, and returning to Ji'ranah before dawn. This makes it a sunnah location for entering احرام. The مسجد has been renovated and expanded by the Saudi government.
Ji'ranah holds the distinction of being the place where نبی کریم (PBUH) entered احرام for one of his عمرہs. Some scholars recommend it over Taneem for this reason. It represents a sunnah miqat option for those seeking to follow the prophetic example more closely.
Masjid al-Ji'ranah is approximately 24 km from مسجد الحرام, about 30-40 minutes by car. It is less crowded than Masjid Aisha at Taneem, making it a peaceful alternative for entering احرام. The مسجد has نماز facilities and washrooms. There are fewer shops and services compared to Taneem, so it is advisable to prepare احرام clothing in advance. Some حجاج prefer this location because of its direct prophetic connection.
