Yalamlam (also known as As-Sa'diah) is the miqat for حجاج coming from Yemen and the southern direction. By extension, حجاج from the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and East Africa who travel by sea or arrive from the south also use this miqat. It is located about 120 km south of مکہ مکرمہ in the Tihama coastal region.
Yalamlam was designated by نبی کریم Muhammad (PBUH) as the miqat for the people of Yemen. It is named after a mountain in the Tihama region south of مکہ مکرمہ. The modern miqat facility is at the town of As-Sa'diah. Historically, حجاج from Yemen, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia who traveled by land or sea from the south would pass through this miqat. Today, most حجاج from these regions fly into Jeddah and enter احرام on the airplane, but those traveling by land still use this miqat point.
Yalamlam is one of the five miqat points designated by نبی کریم (PBUH). It serves حجاج from the southernmost approaches to مکہ مکرمہ, including the historically significant route from Yemen. The people of Yemen were praised by نبی کریم (PBUH) for their soft hearts and wisdom, and this miqat has welcomed their حاجی caravans for over 14 centuries.
Yalamlam / As-Sa'diah is on the highway from Yemen to مکہ مکرمہ, about 120 km south of the holy city. The facility includes a مسجد and basic amenities for entering احرام. Most حجاج from the south today fly into Jeddah and enter احرام on the airplane as they cross the miqat line. If traveling by road from Yemen or the southern Saudi regions, your bus or car will stop here. The facility is less developed than the مدینہ منورہ miqat but adequate for the purpose. Plan to have your احرام clothing ready before arriving.
