الحج Qiran(حَجّ القِرَان) الحج Qiran (combined الحج) is a type of الحج where the الحاج enters الإحرام intending both العمرة and الحج together. They remain in الإحرام throughout and perform both rites with a single set of الطواف and السعي.
حَجّ القِرَان
In الحج Qiran, the الحاج declares their intention for both العمرة and الحج simultaneously at the Miqat, saying 'Labbayk Allahumma Hajjan wa Umratan' (Here I am, O Allah, for الحج and العمرة). Alternatively, the الحاج may enter الإحرام for العمرة first and then add the intention of الحج before beginning the الطواف of العمرة. The distinctive feature of Qiran is that the الحاج remains in the state of الإحرام continuously — they do not exit الإحرام between العمرة and الحج as in Tamattu. Upon arriving in مكة, they perform الطواف al-Qudum and may perform السعي. Then they stay in الإحرام until completing all the rites of الحج. According to the majority of scholars, one الطواف (الطواف al-Ifadah) and one السعي suffice for both the العمرة and الحج obligations. Like Tamattu الحجاج, Qiran الحجاج must offer a Hady sacrifice as thanksgiving for combining both acts of worship in one journey. This was the type of الحج performed by النبي Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) عند several hadith narrations, as he brought his sacrificial animal with him. Qiran is more demanding than Tamattu because the الحاج endures the الإحرام restrictions for a longer period.
