غُفْرَانَكَ. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذَى وَعَافَانِي
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came out of the restroom, he would say: 'Ghufranaka.'
After leaving the restroom, say: 'Ghufranaka' — I seek Your forgiveness. Exit with the right foot. Some narrations also include: 'Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi adh-haba 'annil-adha wa 'afani' — Praise be to Allah Who has removed harm from me and granted me wellbeing.

Ghufranaka. Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi adh-haba 'annil-adha wa 'afani.
Meaning: I seek Your forgiveness. Praise be to Allah Who has removed harm from me and granted me wellbeing.
Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhi #7Scholars explain that 'Ghufranaka' (I seek Your forgiveness) is said because one was unable to remember Allah while in the impure place, so forgiveness is sought for that period of not engaging in dhikr. Others explain it as gratitude for the blessing of being able to eliminate waste — a bodily function whose absence would cause great suffering. Both meanings reflect the comprehensive Islamic mindfulness.
