Dhikr(ذِكْر) Dhikr is the Islamic practice of remembering Allah through the repetition of His names, glorification phrases, and দোয়াs. It is a central act of worship encouraged throughout হজ্জ and daily life.

Dhikr encompasses a wide range of devotional expressions: Tasbih (SubhanAllah — Glory be to Allah), Tahmid (Alhamdulillah — Praise be to Allah), Takbir (Allahu Akbar — Allah is the Greatest), Tahlil (La ilaha illAllah — There is no god but Allah), Istighfar (seeking forgiveness), and Salawat (sending blessings upon নবী করীম). During হজ্জ, Dhikr pervades every aspect of the হজ্জ. The তালবিয়াহ itself is a form of Dhikr. The কুরআন specifically commands Dhikr during the Days of Tashreeq: 'Remember Allah during the appointed days' (2:203), and scholars hold that the Takbirat al-Tashreeq — reciting 'Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illAllah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil-hamd' after every ওয়াজিব সালাত from Fajr of the 9th to Asr of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah — is Wajib (Hanafi) or Sunnah Mu'akkadah (other schools). During তাওয়াফ, সাঈ, at আরাফাত, and throughout the হজ্জ journey, হাজীগণ are encouraged to fill their time with Dhikr. নবী করীম said: 'The best of speech is four phrases: SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illAllah, and Allahu Akbar.'
