Hady(هَدْي) Hady is the animal sacrifice offered in the Haram area of Mekkah during Haji, wajib for jamaah haji performing Haji Tamattu or Haji Qiran as a thanksgiving to Allah for the blessing of combining Haji and Umrah.
هَدْي
The Hady is mentioned in Al-Al-Quran: 'And complete Haji and Umrah for Allah. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals' (2:196). It is wajib for Tamattu and Qiran jamaah haji as a shukr (thanksgiving) sacrifice, while Ifrad jamaah haji are not required to offer it but may do so voluntarily. The animal must meet certain criteria: a sheep or goat must be at least one year old, a cow at least two years, and a camel at least five years. The animal must be free of defects (not blind, lame, sick, or emaciated). One sheep or goat suffices for one jamaah haji, while a cow or camel can be shared among up to seven jamaah haji. The sacrifice is performed in the Haram area on the 10th of Dzulhijjah or during the Days of Tashreeq. A jamaah haji who cannot afford the Hady must fast three days during Haji and seven days after returning home. Modern jamaah haji often purchase vouchers from authorized companies that perform the sacrifice on their behalf.
