عبادة
Ibn Taymiyyah defined ibaadah as 'a comprehensive term for everything that Allah loves and is pleased with, whether words or deeds, outward or inward.' This broad definition means ibaadah is not limited to ritual worship (salah, fasting, haji) but extends to all of life. Smiling at someone, removing harm from a path, being honest in business, caring for parents, and even eating with the intention of gaining strength for worship are all forms of ibaadah. The two conditions for valid ibaadah are: sincerity (ikhlas — doing it purely for Allah) and conformity (mutaba'ah — performing it according to Nabi's teachings). Haji is considered one of the greatest forms of ibaadah because it combines physical effort, financial sacrifice, spiritual devotion, and submission to Allah in a single comprehensive act of worship.
