হজ্জ Qiran(حَجّ القِرَان) হজ্জ Qiran (combined হজ্জ) is a type of হজ্জ where the হাজী enters ইহরাম intending both উমরাহ and হজ্জ together. They remain in ইহরাম throughout and perform both rites with a single set of তাওয়াফ and সাঈ.
حَجّ القِرَان
In হজ্জ Qiran, the হাজী declares their intention for both উমরাহ and হজ্জ simultaneously at the Miqat, saying 'Labbayk Allahumma Hajjan wa Umratan' (Here I am, O Allah, for হজ্জ and উমরাহ). Alternatively, the হাজী may enter ইহরাম for উমরাহ first and then add the intention of হজ্জ before beginning the তাওয়াফ of উমরাহ. The distinctive feature of Qiran is that the হাজী remains in the state of ইহরাম continuously — they do not exit ইহরাম between উমরাহ and হজ্জ as in Tamattu. Upon arriving in মক্কা মুকাররমা, they perform তাওয়াফ al-Qudum and may perform সাঈ. Then they stay in ইহরাম until completing all the rites of হজ্জ. According to the majority of scholars, one তাওয়াফ (তাওয়াফ al-Ifadah) and one সাঈ suffice for both the উমরাহ and হজ্জ obligations. Like Tamattu হাজীগণ, Qiran হাজীগণ must offer a Hady sacrifice as thanksgiving for combining both acts of worship in one journey. This was the type of হজ্জ performed by নবী করীম Muhammad (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) according to several hadith narrations, as he brought his sacrificial animal with him. Qiran is more demanding than Tamattu because the হাজী endures the ইহরাম restrictions for a longer period.
