Hajj visa applications are coordinated through the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Pilgrims must register through approved Hajj operators who handle visa processing. Requirements include a valid passport (6+ months), vaccination certificates (meningitis ACWY, COVID-19), and passport photos.
Licensed Hajj operators are registered with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. A list of approved companies is published annually on the ministry website. Pilgrims should only book through authorized operators.
Oman's proximity to Saudi Arabia makes overland travel possible via the Al Buraimi/Al Ain border crossing. Many Omani pilgrims prefer driving through UAE to Makkah. Ibadi Muslims form the majority in Oman but Hajj rituals are universal across all schools. The Omani government subsidizes a portion of Hajj costs.
