Prioritize the five daily prayers on time, add the 12 sunnah rawatib prayers, incorporate tahajjud gradually, and pray in congregation whenever possible — consistency matters most.
The spiritual high of Hajj naturally fades as you return to daily life, making it crucial to establish a sustainable prayer routine immediately upon returning. Start with the non-negotiable foundation: the five daily obligatory prayers performed on time. If you were not consistent before Hajj, this is the most important change to lock in. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said prayer is the first thing a person will be asked about on the Day of Judgment.
Build gradually by adding the 12 regular sunnah prayers (rawatib): 2 before Fajr, 4 before and 2 after Dhuhr, 2 after Maghrib, and 2 after Isha. Then incorporate tahajjud (night prayer) even if it is just two rak'at before Fajr. Maintain the habit of dua after each obligatory prayer. Pray in congregation at the mosque when possible, as it carries 27 times the reward. The key is consistency over intensity — a small amount of worship done regularly is more beloved to Allah than occasional bursts of intense worship that cannot be maintained.
