Masjid Quba is the first mosque ever built in Islam, constructed by the Prophet upon his arrival in Madinah. The Prophet used to visit every Saturday and pray two rak'ahs there. He also said: 'Whoever purifies himself in his house, then comes to Masjid Quba and prays in it, he will have the reward of an Umrah.'
Masjid Quba is about 3.5 kilometers south of the Prophet's Mosque, easily accessible by taxi, bus, or foot. The mosque has been expanded and modernized with beautiful white marble architecture and ample facilities.
To visit, perform wudu at your accommodation, then travel to the mosque and pray two rak'ahs. Visiting on Saturday follows the Sunnah. Many tour operators include Quba in their Madinah ziyarah itinerary. The visit typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.
