Should I use social media during Hajj?

The constant pull of posting and checking reactions can distract from the deep spiritual focus that makes Hajj transformative. Many scholars strongly advise minimizing social media during pilgrimage.

The core concern is sincerity (ikhlas). Hajj is intended purely for Allah, and the desire to show others your worship can subtly shift intention. Time spent composing posts is time taken from dua, dhikr, and simply being present.

A balanced approach: inform family of safe arrival briefly, take a few meaningful photos during non-worship moments, keep your phone on airplane mode during rituals, use it primarily for IhramOS or worship tools, and save detailed sharing for after returning home. The best Hajj moments are between you and Allah alone.
