You need a valid passport, Hajj visa, meningitis vaccination certificate, photos, insurance documents, flight itinerary, hotel bookings, and medical prescriptions — keep both physical and digital copies.
The most critical document is a valid passport with at least 6 months of validity beyond your planned return date. Your Hajj visa will be processed through your authorized Hajj operator and stamped in your passport. You must also carry your meningitis ACWY vaccination certificate — without it, entry may be denied at Saudi immigration.
Additional required documents include: passport-sized photographs (check your country's requirements for quantity), travel insurance documentation, round-trip flight tickets or itinerary, hotel booking confirmations for Makkah and Madinah, your Hajj package contract or receipt, and your national ID card. If you are a woman traveling without a mahram (where permitted), you may need additional documentation.
It is also wise to carry: copies of any medical prescriptions with generic drug names (in English and Arabic if possible), a list of emergency contacts, your blood type card, and any relevant medical records for chronic conditions. Make photocopies of all documents and store them separately from the originals. Keep digital copies on your phone and email them to yourself as backup. Your Hajj operator will provide specific guidance for your country's requirements.
