Nusuk is the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's official digital platform for managing all aspects of pilgrim services. For Hajj pilgrims, interaction with Nusuk typically occurs through their authorized operator. The operator registers the pilgrim's information (passport details, photograph, vaccination records) into the Nusuk system, which processes the visa application and issues the Hajj permit. The pilgrim receives a digital permit linked to their passport and biometric data. Upon arrival in Saudi Arabia, the Nusuk identity is verified at immigration. During Hajj, the permit (often embedded in a smart wristband) provides access to Hajj sites, links to medical records, and enables crowd management systems to track aggregate pilgrim movements. For Umrah, individual pilgrims can register directly through the Nusuk app or website.

The Nusuk platform has streamlined processes that were previously paper-based, slow, and prone to errors. Visa processing times have been reduced.
