Yes, a Tamattu pilgrim enters ihram for Hajj on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah from their place of stay in Makkah. They do not need to go to any miqat. The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded his companions who were performing Tamattu to enter ihram for Hajj from their dwellings. Sheikh Ibn Baz said: 'The one performing Tamattu enters ihram for Hajj from his place — whether his hotel, the Haram, or wherever he may be in Makkah' (Fatawa Ibn Baz, vol. 16).
