Nafr Awwal(النَّفْر الأَوَّل) Nafr Awwal (first departure) is the option to leave মিনা on the 12th of Dhul Hijjah after completing the day's stoning. It is the early departure option explicitly permitted in আল-কুরআন.
النَّفْر الأَوَّل
Nafr Awwal allows হাজীগণ to shorten their stay in মিনা by departing on the 12th of Dhul Hijjah, the second of the Days of Tashreeq, after completing the stoning of all three জামারাত for that day. The critical condition is timing: the হাজী must leave the boundaries of মিনা before sunset (Maghrib) on the 12th. If the sun sets while they are still within মিনা, the majority of scholars hold that they become obligated to remain for the stoning on the 13th. Some scholars from the Shafi'i and Hanbali schools allow departure even after sunset as long as the হাজী had the intention and was in the process of leaving. After departing মিনা, হাজীগণ typically proceed to মক্কা মুকাররমা to perform তাওয়াফ al-Wida (farewell তাওয়াফ) before leaving the city. Many হাজীগণ choose Nafr Awwal due to the practical challenges of extended stays in মিনা and tight travel schedules.
