## The Problem We Solved
During Hajj, pilgrims move through multiple sacred sites requiring specific rituals. IhramOS brings the right information automatically based on where you are.
## Geofencing: Virtual Sacred Boundaries
IhramOS defines geofence zones around each key location: the Haram, the Mataf, the Sa'i corridor, Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Jamarat. These boundaries are stored locally.
## How Location Detection Works
Your GPS receiver calculates position using satellite signals. IhramOS monitors these updates and compares against stored boundaries. When you cross into a zone, relevant content triggers automatically.
## Sensor Fusion for Tawaf Counting
GPS alone is insufficient inside the Haram structure. IhramOS combines GPS with accelerometer readings that detect walking patterns and directional changes. The system identifies circuit completion at the Black Stone corner.
## Privacy-First Processing
All GPS data is processed on-device. Location is never transmitted to servers unless you enable group tracking. Movement history remains private.
## Battery Optimization
During active tracking, GPS polls at high frequency. During passive geofencing, low-power APIs batch updates efficiently. Target: less than 5% battery per hour.
## Accuracy and Limitations
Inside the Haram, GPS accuracy degrades. Sensor fusion mitigates this but cannot eliminate limitations. Manual adjustment of counts is always available — technology is a helper, not an authority.
