When beginning Tawaf, the pilgrim faces the Black Stone, raises their right hand toward it, and says: 'Bismillahi wallahu Akbar. Allahumma imanan bika wa tasdiqan bi kitabika wa wafa'an bi ahdika wattiba'an li sunnati nabiyyika Muhammad (peace be upon him).' This is said at the start of each circuit.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيمَانًا بِكَ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِكِتَابِكَ وَوَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ وَاتِّبَاعًا لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Bismillahi wallahu Akbar. Allahumma imanan bika wa tasdiqan bi kitabika wa wafa'an bi 'ahdika wattiba'an li sunnati nabiyyika Muhammadin sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam.
Meaning: In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, out of faith in You, belief in Your Book, fulfillment of Your covenant, and following the Sunnah of Your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Source: Sahih Muslim #1218Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The Black Stone descended from Paradise whiter than milk, but the sins of the children of Adam turned it black.' (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 877)

When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to Makkah, he went to the Black Stone and kissed it, then walked to its right and performed ramal (walking briskly) for three circuits and walked normally for four.
