حج Qiran(حَجّ القِرَان) حج Qiran (combined حج) is a type of حج where the حاجی enters احرام intending both عمرہ and حج together. They remain in احرام throughout and perform both rites with a single set of طواف and سعی.
حَجّ القِرَان
In حج Qiran, the حاجی declares their intention for both عمرہ and حج simultaneously at the Miqat, saying 'Labbayk Allahumma Hajjan wa Umratan' (Here I am, O Allah, for حج and عمرہ). Alternatively, the حاجی may enter احرام for عمرہ first and then add the intention of حج before beginning the طواف of عمرہ. The distinctive feature of Qiran is that the حاجی remains in the state of احرام continuously — they do not exit احرام between عمرہ and حج as in Tamattu. Upon arriving in مکہ مکرمہ, they perform طواف al-Qudum and may perform سعی. Then they stay in احرام until completing all the rites of حج. According to the majority of scholars, one طواف (طواف al-Ifadah) and one سعی suffice for both the عمرہ and حج obligations. Like Tamattu حجاج, Qiran حجاج must offer a Hady sacrifice as thanksgiving for combining both acts of worship in one journey. This was the type of حج performed by نبی کریم Muhammad (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) according to several hadith narrations, as he brought his sacrificial animal with him. Qiran is more demanding than Tamattu because the حاجی endures the احرام restrictions for a longer period.
